The coffee table is one of the most undervalued and yet important pieces of furniture in your living room. If you think about the myriad of uses your coffee table is put to every day, you will appreciate its importance. It's a place for the family to gather, it can be a showcase for your books and ornaments, it's where you can get some last minute work done or where your child does their homework and sometimes it’s where you hurriedly eat your lunch.
Sofa is usually the first major piece of furniture we invest in for our living rooms—and, arguably, for our homes. One of the larger pieces of furniture, it's also the one we spend the most time on (other than our beds), and we often have very strict ideas of how comfortable it should be. So it's no wonder that this piece of furniture gets most of our attention when decorating a living room. But there's another important piece of the puzzle that often gets neglected: the coffee table.
A coffee table is the literal center piece of your living room. It's perfectly placed so that nearby coffee mugs, cocktail cups, discarded magazines, ornamental books and other nearby collateral is within optimal reach of its storage surface.
